Douglas Teiger, FAIA, is a distinguished architect and consultant with a career marked by innovation, leadership, and a commitment to holistic work-life balance. A 1982 graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor of Architecture, Douglas founded his own firm in 1989. Under his guidance, the firm grew from a solo practice to a thriving enterprise with 32 dedicated professionals.

In 2009, Douglas expanded his expertise by earning a Master’s degree in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. This education equipped him with valuable tools and skills that he integrates into his professional practice, benefiting both his staff and clients. His strategic approach to operations optimization has enabled more time to be dedicated to design and project research, fostering a culture that prioritizes a balanced and holistic work environment.

Douglas's leadership extends beyond his firm. In 2017, he served as the president of the AIA Los Angeles Chapter and has also Served on the AIA National Strategic Council 2021-2022. His commitment to the architecture community is evident in these roles, where he has influenced strategic initiatives and professional standards.

In 2019, Douglas transitioned from his firm, elevating three associates to partners and selling his shares to embark on a new venture: Teiger Consulting. This new chapter allows him to focus on his passion for coaching, consulting, and personal growth.

Douglas’s mission is to "live an inspiring balanced life," a philosophy that permeates his professional endeavors and personal interests, including family, painting, and sports. His journey reflects a dedication to excellence, continuous learning, and a balanced approach to life and work.
