Joyce is a seasoned architect and planner with a focus on sustainability. She was the Chief Architect for NYC OMB under Mayor Bloomberg and currently serves on General Service Administration's Green Building Advisory and as an EJ Commissioner for the City of Philadelphia. Joyce is the co-author of the award-winning Active Design Guidelines that were translated to design policy in multiple cities and communities. Her subsequent consulting work and publications influenced the practice of green health, including the 2024 update of GSA's P100. Joyce received the Public Architect Award from AIA NY, Platinum Award from ACEC, and Aga Khan Award from Harvard/MIT.
