Sophia Gruzdys, AIA is President and Founder of SGLA International, an Associate Professor at the University of Southern California, and a board member of AIA Continental Europe. She holds a Master of Architecture with Distinction from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and brings decades of experience at the intersection of architectural practice, education, and global collaboration.
She previously served as Director of Undergraduate Studies at Yale College and has taught at Yale, Cornell, Pratt, and NYIT. At USC, she directs the Mediterranean global studies program based in Rome and Barcelona. Her international design work has been recognized by the Boston Society of Architects, HGTV, and others, and includes projects in New York, Barcelona, and London.
A former Visiting Artist at the American Academy in Rome, Sophia actively contributes to publications and conferences focused on architecture and urbanism. She is a registered architect in New York and Ohio and former President of AIA Continental Europe.
