Jerome Garciano represents lenders, equity investors, manufacturers and project developers in renewable energy and real estate project tax credit financing. He advises clients on various aspects of energy tax credit such as qualifying facilities review, transferability, tax credit equity, prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements, domestic content and energy communities bonuses, beginning of construction and placement in service, and the IRS regulatory guidance on these matters.
Prior to joining Akin, Jerome’s transactional practice also focused on affordable housing and community real estate development tax credit finance. As a tax LEED accredited professional with background in design and construction, Jerome is nationally recognized as an expert on tax incentives for clean energy and green building and infrastructure and building energy efficiency. Before practicing law, Jerome was a project finance manager on low-income housing tax credit finance transactions for a national nonprofit real estate developer specializing in community revitalization.
